I help single mothers in Ukraine. I hope to improve the lives for their children. I also try to promote Ukraine as a tourist destination, concentrating on its fine food, coffee, and wine. I also try to explain the current economic and political situation of Ukraine to other non Ukrainians. Whilst critical of several government decisions, I have faith that it can and will drag itself out of the problems of its poverty and corruption. Overall I am cautiously supportive of the general direction that democratic politics is taking Ukraine. As a businessman, I am convinced that trade can only help Ukraine. As such, trade with Russia - a relatively small trading partner - to the exclusion of Europe - is not a path to any decent Ukrainian future. Trade to the EU - with, or without trade to Russia - is its primary hope.
